Claire Flack of Wigs and Warpaint in Sheffield has made it through to the London final of FACE OFF, a national men's grooming and photographic competition organised by American Crew, the world's leading manufacturer of professional male grooming products.

Commenting on her achievement, Claire says: "As a professional stylist, the opportunity to develop my styling and photographic skills with the founder of a top professional brand like American Crew is a fantastic incentive to enter a competition like FACE OFF. I’m proud that I’ve secured recognition as a finalist, which is great news for the salon and our profile locally and I really hope I’m successful in the next round."

FACE OFF is a black and white photographic competition, which aims to showcase the latest hair fashion styles for men and, through the judging process, recognises some of the UK’s most talented and up and coming stylists. With the support of top professional trade magazine Hairdressers Journal and leading consumer title Men’s Health, this year’s competition has been the focus of a high profile media campaign and has attracted the attention of the men’s hairdressing industry and a record number of entries.

Twenty finalists were announced at an awards party, which was recently held at The Point, the fantastic new venue at Old Trafford in Manchester. Hosted by T4 presenters and ex-Hollyoaks stars Darren Jeffries and Matt Littler, the stylish event showcased all the photographic entries and an appreciative audience was entertained by a stunning American Crew catwalk show that contained everything from masculine style and geek chic to outright macho!

From the 20 finalists, three winners will be announced at a lunch in London in February. The judging is done by American Crew and its founder and top photographer David Raccuglia. The prize for each of the three winners includes a trip to Los Angeles and the opportunity to do a professional photo-shoot with David Raccuglia, whose portfolio features the actor Jack Nicholson, singer/songwriter Ray Charles and the spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.

Face Off brand manager Mark Shorrock says: "The high level of interest and standard of entry for this year’s FACE OFF reflect the value of entering this type of competition and have helped to establish it as a firm fixture in the British hairdressing awards calendar. Our congratulations go to all the finalists and we look forward to announcing the three winners in the New Year."
